Carry On by Rainbow Rowell.

Where do I even begin.

This was a cute book. Not as serious as Fangirl, but still very cute. Some terms were very childlike and it has some obvious issues with some point-of-views within the novel but I still enjoyed it a lot.

Agatha wasn't the best at any point but I like where she ended up. To be honest, I didn't see her point of being in the story at all other than to prove that Simon was bisexual instead of gay but even that didn't seem necessary to me.

Baz is great, my favourite character by far and also the best name.

Simon was weird the whole time honestly. And for fucks sake, just please use the term bisexual. I just wanted to see it once in this book and it wasn't.

Penelope was also the best. 100%

42. Where'd You Go, Bernadette - Maria Semple

Alright let me start off by saying that I picked this up because my Aunt lent it to me saying she really liked it and then after having it sit there for a month I went to a friends house over the weekend and knew the bus ride to get there would be long, so I brought one book only to read and it was this one. I didn't finish it on the bus there or while I was there or on the bus back. However, I did finish it two days later because wow there's a lot to take in. So much to try and figure out.

Too many things I want to know!!!

This story is told a little differently. It's a fourteen/fifteen year old girl who lives in Seattle with her two awesome parents. They're both a little crazy but they are super awesome.

Her mom is literally the coolest mom ever (besides my mom obviously) even if she seems to need help. She doesn't REALLY need help, she just needs to be shoved in the right direction once again. And that's exactly what happens.

The way it's written is a bunch of documents like; emails, FBI files, memos and notes. It's very weird and a tad harder to get into but I still loved it very much. Every once and while you see a note Bee made or one of her memories from when these things happened which is very nice.

I was also told this was supposed to be a humour book? Not too sure about that still. There are some humorous moments but nothing that I think (personally) that would classify this under the category of humour.

I just found it a tab suspenseful and I wanted to keep reading it to find out where it goes. The characters were so interesting I wanted so badly to learn more about them and that's what kept me hooked.

There is still so much I want to know about and here are some of them: (SPOILERS MAYBE)

-The baby?? Like?? Tell me more!!!
-The baby's mom? (I can't remember her name)
-Their crazy neighbour and her son?
-The neighbour's husband?
-What did her mom do about that lady and the baby? Like I want to know more!!
-Tell me everything about that new building she's making!
-Does Bee like her knew half-sibling?
-Does she get along with the other lady's kids?
-Or the mother to her half sibling?
-How does her dad feel really?
-Where does he work now? Also, is he loving it?
-Basically just let me know how all the characters are doing.

41. The Dream Thieves - Maggie Stiefvater

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater is a perfect roller coaster of emotions.

Alright, it took me a whole month to read this whole thing, let's see how well I remember what happened.

To be honest, I thought switching into the Gray Man's point of view was a waste of time for about half the book until he met Maura, and well I'm not saying the rest of that will be a spoiler. Don't make assumptions! You could be thinking something happened but really nothing happened.

Can I also just say that this book made me love Ronan even more. Like he's so good and so scary all at the same time. Sometimes I wish I could come across as scary as Ronan. He's like my new roll model.

Adam pretty much made me angry this whole book until him and Persephone helped out Ronan. I really just want him to be the Adam that was in The Raven Boys because I loved that Adam so much.

I also love that Gansey and Blue's relationship. Gansey calls her just for her to talk and to get his mind off things. Then Blue asks him to just talk and drive anywhere to get her mind off things. It's so cute and so heartbreaking.

I would say goals, but we all know what's going to happen eventually and that is not goals.

I gave this book a 4 star rating on Goodreads rather than a five star like the first book but I have a reason. This book really seemed like they were just hopping along and nothing was really happening. Like they were doing things but none of it felt like it was going anywhere.

Then - at like the 400th page - everything awkwardly fell into place and Ronan and Kavinsky fought and it was epic but not epic enough for me to be honest. Like, I wanted more to happen than that. Or for it just to last a bit longer.

Just something more.

Then the darn thing ends on a cliffhanger and no one even knows how we got to the dang cliffhanger.

Right now I feel like this book was kind of a mess, but I do intend on reading the next one very soon!

40. Etiquette and Espionage - Gail Carriger

Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger is

I have to admit that this took me a while to read. I started reading it in the dark in my room super late at night when I should have been sleeping. Then the main character started to annoy me so I stopped for a bit. (This happens to me a lot.)

The main character annoyed me a lot for the first half of the book and I continually put it down at certain parts. But that's just how main characters roll.

It took me so long to finish this and I repeatedly put it into my bag to bring to work so maybe I'd read it at lunch time however, I never did. So I pretty much forced myself t sit down and read as much as I could to get it down.

However, after I forced myself to do that, the book got really good. I actually ended up liking it a lot! And I have the next book in the series ready to go!

The main character may suck but the book was good. The idea is fantastic and honestly this universe would make an amazing tv show. Part of me hopes it will make it that far.

39. The Gathering - Kelley Armstrong

Kelley Armstrong has quickly become one of my favourite authors.

I'll admit that this book has a slow start. My friend and I wanted to read this book alongside each other so we could talk about it as we read. However, she could hardly get as far as the sixth chapter without me raving about how amazing the fifteenth chapter was.

It seems a little boring, however it was not to me. This book hooked me almost right away and kept me reading. I tried to wait for my friend to catch up with me but she gave up. That is a-okay.

Don't push yourself to read something if it doesn't interest you.

Although... if you fall in love with it, then keep going! Its totally worth it!

I can say that this book is one that only a select few people can get as hooked as I was and keep going. As I said a few seconds ago, it is very slow.

For some reason, don't ask me why, the thing that kept me reading was the first death in the book. This is the second trilogy that I've read that has started off with a death very early on - like within the first two chapters - and I mostly kept reading because I wanted to know what happened. I'm not going to tell you and spoil anything about who it was or what happened, but it was kind of awesome.

Do not judge! I was not yet emotionally attached to any characters when this death occurred so everything was fine.

I think that if you have a weird death in a book that is very unexplained at the time it happens, it's very awesome. Because you know you're going to find out later how it happened and that's one of the best parts.

I'd also like to say that Maya and Raffe are a new OTP of mine. I don't care what anyone else has to say on the subject. I ship it. Don't spoil me if you've read the other two books. I still have not and I'm going to very soon.

38. Rebel Belle - Rachel Hawkins

Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins is. Oh my gosh.

Looking at this book, you will have no idea what it's about. I had it on my shelf for so long that I practically forgot about it.

Let me just tell you, if you want something a bit different and a bit weird, pick this book up. Harper is the main character, and although I didn't agree with her on most things (usually I don't agree with the main characters in books) she is so awesome. I can't even begin to describe how awesome she is.

She was a superhero even before she got her super powers. I don't even understand how one person can be in so many clubs and extra curricular so without absolutely losing their minds in a week.

I love her and Ryan together and if you haven't read the book yet just know that I was not happy with the outcome. Even though you can really see it from a mile away.

I'm going to straight up say it, Saylor is a weird name and I don't like it.

I gave it four stars on Goodreads but only because I didn't agree with Harper. She can get kind of annoying at times, but then again what main character isn't annoying? I'm just being petty. If you haven't read this book, you need to. I know I say that a lot but I really mean it.

If you want something a bit different, go for this book. It might suprise you.

37. Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children - Ransom Riggs

This book has an extremely long name.

It also took me far too long to finish this book.

Ransom Riggs, I have no idea what goes on in your mind but I like it. There are things you would but wouldn't expect in this book. Mystery and not.

To be honest, I'm sure I missed a few things, I may have to read it again pretty soon before I can read the next one. There's just so much to remember. So much going on. So much amazingness.

The main reason I picked up this book was due to the lovely trailer for the movie coming out in September. Tim Burton though, am I right? I got to about page ten and found a book mark in there and realized I had previously started reading it but completely forgot. For about two or three years. I most definitely bought this book before I moved.

I gave it four stars on Goodreads. Though right now I'm feeling it's less than that, I know I was really in love with this book when I started to read it and if I would have read it all right the it would be a four star.

I probably won't read the second one for a bit mostly because I want to finish some other series first and I want to see the movie. Maybe it will make some things more clear to me. Even if they got the characters wrong. (Yes you can already tell by just looking at the trailer.)

36. Famous Last Words - Katie Alender

Famous Last Words by Katie Alender was kind of amazing.

This book got me out of a reading slump. There's ghosts and mystery murder and I loved every second of it. Katie Alender is amazing and I think that I'll read anything she'll write.

Willa is a great character going through a lot of difficult things. Wyatt was great from the start. I liked him from the beginning. Marine I didn't like. At all. She was crazy and at one point I was certain she was the killer.

Part of me wishes  she was, sadly the killer was a guy.

I'll try not to ruin anything. Maybe I should stop while I'm ahead.

If you want something that's seems sweet and innocent but ends up being a crazy ride into crazy-ville, you should pick this up.

The situation Willa is in at the beginning of the book seems like every teenage girl's dream. Moving to Hollywood with a new rich and slightly famous stepfather. However, Katie Alender skips over all the stuff you dream about and makes it more real.

That is why I love it so much. It's more real than fantasy. Well, aside from the ghosts.

But I believe in ghosts.

35. Girl Online On Tour - Zoe Sugg (Zoella)

Girl Online On Tour by Zoe Sugg is fantastic.

Oh man, I don't even know where to begin with this one.

The whole book had me a little on edge. It's like total second hand embarrassment but the good kind. The kind I can handle and the kind that wants me to keep reading. Not the kind that makes me put the book down and pace around the room.

I would read this book on my way to work and on my break then again when I got hom. It was very hard when I would come to a point where I wouldn't want to stop reading but I had to get off the train or go back to work. Kind of a little frustrating for me because I finished the first book so quickly, this time it took me 48 hours instead of 24. Twice as long. But it was worth it.

Everything about Penny and Noah just makes me want to burst with cuteness.

This book is like a cheesy, cliche romance mixed in with modern struggles and modern dreams. Everything anyone would want as a teenage girl in today's age. The cute rock-star boyfriend who treats you like a Princess. As well as the anxieties and mental health troubles that modern teenagers have.

The way she describes her anxiety and panic attacks is something I can relate to on a personal level. Though I don't quite experience it the same way Penny does, it still is very similar. Its nice to have that reassurance that you're not the only one who goes through these things.

Sometimes it can feel like you're all alone on this planet, but this book really proves that there is always someone there for you in your worst of times. When you need them the most, they will come.
