Books I purchased in October. (it's very embarrassing since I told myself at the beginning of the month I was on a book buying ban. However, Chapters has to go and have a bunch of crazy deals and I ended up buying way more books than I would have liked.)
I actually had to go back and check my Instagram to see which books I started to buy this month.
1. Life and Death - Stephenie Meyer
-how could I not buy this? Everyone's guilty pleasure that they will never admit to is Twilight. You know you enjoyed it a little bit or else you wouldn't have read all the books. See.
2. Possession - Elana Johnson
-it looks like a good read to me, I'm pretty interested in it for some weird reason.
3. The Martian - Andy Weir
-the movie for this book came out on the day before my birthday (I think) and I refuse to see the movie until I read the book first. I'm just weird like that.
4. Tape - Steven Camden
-I have never heard of this book before or seen it until they rearranged the Teen section at Chapters and I CANNOT wait to read this book. It sounds so good!
5. Once Every Never
and
6. Every Never After
by Lesley Livingston
- both looked good and they had both there so why not just get them at the same time?
7. Legacy of Kings - Eleanor Herman
-I actually go this as a birthday present from one of my best friends. So technically I didn't buy it. That's good, right?
8. Girl Online On Tour - Zoe Sugg (Zoella)
-Because I loved the first one so why not love the second one? (I loved the second one too.)
9. Me and Earl and The Dying Girl
-again, if I see a movie trailer that looks freaking awesome, I refuse to see the movie until I've read the book. Still gotta read the book, I know I'm a little behind.
10. Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban
also
11. the Goblet of Fire
you know these ones, everyone does.
-I hate to admit but I've never actually read these books. DO NOT say anything, I am collecting them so I CAN read them. They say that your first time reading them is a special thing so I'm waiting till the right time comes to read them. Also when I have all seven books.
12. The Raven Boys - Maggie Siefvater
-I've heard so many good things and I really want to read this series.
13. Eve & Adam - Michael Grant
-this one is really different and sounds super interesting. Plus I've never heard of it before so it caught my interest even more.
14. Just Ella - Margaret Peterson Haddix
-a re-telling of Cinderella and it looks pretty and is super short. All things I love.
15. Red Queen - Victoria Aveyard
-I have been wanting this one pretty much since it came out and I finally got it! Everyone always says such good things about it too!
16. The Winner's Curse - Marie Rutkoski
-this one has always caught my attention for some reason, so excited to dive into it soon! (hopefully)
17. Everything, Everything - Nicola Yoon
-this book sounds so good to me for some reason. I'm trying to read more contemporary (as you may be able to tell already) and this one sounds like it's just what I'm looking for.
18. I Hunt Killers - Barry Lyga
-someone suggested this to me like three months ago on Instagram though I never actually saw it in the store until just recently and I didn't hesitate to buy it.
19. Anna and the French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins
-I actually bought this one back in September for my friend for her birthday, and I wanted a copy for myself. I wanted to read it so badly that I almost read her copy before giving it to her but I held back! And now I'm good because I have my own!
20. The Darkest Minds - Alexandra Braken
-this sounds right up my alley. The Chapters girl ringing me in read the back while I was paying and wrote it down for herself because she thought it sounded amazing!
21. Masque of the Red Death - Bethany Griffin
-I can't remember exactly why I bought this one but it's been on my to-buy list all summer so I finally caved.
22. The Demon King - Cinda Williams Chima
-I spotted this one a while ago and finally caved to get it. The Chapters girl told me she loved it. (Different girl than the other one on number 20.)
23. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets to the Universe - Benjamin Alire Saenz
-been on my to-buy list forever, it was time.
24. An Abundance of Katherines - John Green
-I've got to get my fill of John Green.
25. Famous Last Words - Katie Alender
-I freaking love Katie Alender. More than John Green. Shh don't tell him.
26. The Calling
and
27. The Rising
by Kelley Armstrong
-I started The Gathering and at chapter 2 decided I needed the next two books in the series. Kelley Armstrong was one of my first favorite authors. I love her Darkest Powers trilogy to the moon and back.
28. Mosquitoland - David Arnold
-because who doesn't want to spend their summer on a road trip. Just this way it costs me $20 instead of... well a lot more than $20. Who knows, maybe this book will inspire me to travel the country anyways.
29. Saint Anything - Sarah Dessen
-I wasn't originally going to get this book, but I've heard a lot of good things about it. Then I re-read the summary and now I have a theory and I want to prove it's right.
30. The Accident Season - Moira Fowley-Doyle
-I'm really interested in this book because it's different. I've never heard of something like this before and I'm very excited to see where it goes.
That's it, I purchased exactly 30 books this month and that's a lot. But my book-buying need/want has decreased dramatically. I don't want to 'just stop in and look' at chapters that much anymore. I just want to sit and read and admire the books I own right now. And that's fantasic.
