59. Cress - Marissa Meyer

Oh. My. Gosh.

So Its been forever since I actually finished this book but that was my first reaction upon finishing it apparently. I haven't read Winter yet so I'm going to refresh my memory really quickly and come back and let you know.

So! I think this was my favourite book by far because I loved Cress and the Captain together. On an adventure or as a couple. Soooo cute. However, Scarlet is my favourite character still.

Winter is on my list of books to read this year (2018) so hopefully I'l get to it soon! I can't wait to finish this series off, only so I can re-read it. ;)

56. This Modern Love - Will Darbyshire

I read this one day when I was having a particularity bad day. Every responsibility and dream was crushing down on me and I had had enough of it. So I broke, and after I collected myself enough I picked up this work of art.

This helped me enormously.

Earlier this year I found myself daring with a Tinder and lots of hopes and dreams thinking I have found myself enough to want to share my life with someone else. This thing has kept me going through every heartbreak I have found myself with. I just look at it there on my book shelf and remember everyone's story is different and one day I will find mine.

Maybe one day I'll write a letter like that. Or maybe I'll find my own letter.

We will all have to wait and see. In the meantime, if you're all about love, or if you're not. This book is for you.

62. The Rising - Kelley Armstong

The Rising by Kelley Armstrong is what I needed, not what I wanted.

Holy cramoli.

That's the reaction I left myself on this page after I had finished reading it. So I'm just going to leave it there, because it's really how I felt after putting down this book and finishing it.

The end of this book ended on a happy note and it was perfect but it left me wanting so much more. I want more about this world Kelley Armstrong created. I wanted the group to rebel and team up against the Cabals.

I also wanted Maya and Raffe to end up together, but let's not talk about that.

Seeing the characters from her Darkest Powers Trilogy was super weird to me because instead of being inside Chloe's head, we were watching her from Maya's point of view. I couldn't quite wrap my head around the fact that it was in fact Chloe and Derek and all the rest of them.

Despite the fact that all the things I wanted to happen didn't, it was amazing and wrapped up beautifully.

Oh Kelley Armstrong, why do you make me feel all these things. I swear I might just read anything that woman writes at this point.

I know what I bought in August!!!

1. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

2. Recreated - Colleen Houck
-I  was thinking about Reawakened the other day and I remembered that the second one was coming out in August and I found out it came out on the 2nd and I went crazy in the store looking for it. Needless to say, I'm excited.

3. A Monster Calls - Patrick Ness
-I've heard good things and apparently it's going to be (or already is) a movie!

4. Paper Princess -
-the cover for this is really beautiful and I think I'll really enjoy it!

5. This Modern Love - Will Darbyshire

51. The Calling - Kelley Armstrong

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong is the second book in the Darkness Rising.

I've let this book soak in (for a few hours now) and I still love it. I rated it a whole star more than the first one because there was so much more going on. Or at least it felt like it anyways.

She moves very slowly through time with her writing, but she gets every detail and that is the reason I love Kelley Armstrong. At first it feels as if nothing has happened because time moves so slowly in her writing until you finish it and think. In reality, so much has happened.

I don't want to give too much away from this book since it is in fact the second book and I'd be ruining it for a lot of people if you haven't read it yet.

Maya is amazing and so strong, mostly mentally. She is such a great leader and doesn't back down from her responsibilities even when everyone but her friend Daniel is against her.

Daniel is a great friend for Maya, but for some reason I just don't like him. Like I understand that he has to be there but most of this book it just seemed like he was just... well there.

Raffe is pretty cool. I understand his motives and why he does what he does. I like him and Maya together, but the rest is just meh.

That covers the big three I think. I really, really like Sam and Annie. Both of them are amazing when we get to see them. This book hardly had any Annie in it, actually she only appeared once. But she reminded me why I love her character so much and I can't wait to see her in the third and final books. Meanwhile Sam is the badass girl every book needs.

Well, we actually need more than one badass girl in books. Maya and Same are prime examples of that and I love both of them.

Part of me wants Maya to be bisexual and end up with Sam in the end, but everyone knows that's just not going to happen any time soon. Oh well, I can live with her and Raffe together in the end. (Let's just face it. We all know it's going to happen anyways.)

What I'm really hoping for is an appearance from any character from the Darkest Powers trilogy.

I'm also staying very hopeful.

Wow, okay I forgot about this because my laptop broke and I haven't kept track for a few months. 45. The Sea of Monsters - Rick Riordan

The second book in the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan sure does live up to the awesomness of the first one.

If you have seen the movies, they can't live up to the books at all. I re-watched the first one recently and it was all wrong. A great movie, but as an adaptation of the book, terrible. I don't want to even try to watch the second one while I'm still on a high of reading these books because I know its even worse.

I want so badly for them to turn this series into a TV show and I want them to follow it as perfectly as they can because it would be so good.

So good.

Honestly, if you want to get into reading and you've never been much of a reader before, read this series. This series will turn you into a reader. It's that good.

Do it. Read it. Now. Go.

44. Scarlet - Marissa Meyer

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer just might be my favourite book in the Lunar Chronicles.

I just, just finished this book like three seconds ago. The one chapter in Queen Levana's point of view - you know which one I'm talking about - was too calm. Seriously, that is the only thing I can think about right now. The Queen was just too calm and weird and I didn't particularly like her point of view.

There was just something about it that didn't feel right, does that make sense?

Anyway, this book was amazing!

I love Wolf and Scarlet and Cinder and everyone! They are so amazing.

To be honest, I loved Wolf even when he was being an asshole.

I don't know why I didn't get on this bandwagon sooner. Seriously, I could have started reading this series long ago, but I never did. Yet, here we are. I am finally reading it and it's amazing.

My favourite point of view is Cinder's but I really, really love Scarlet's as well. I hope that they end up as good friends by the end of this.

Thorne is slightly annoying but also funny. I'm not sure how I feel about him yet. I don't hate him, but I'm not too sure if I like him yet.

I'm going to pick up Cress very, very soon! (As soon as I finish the other three books I'm reading right now.) Seriously, if you haven't started this series yet, do it. It's so worth it!
